(human + animal so everyone can join the fun) Thankfully that's not going to stop you from enjoying your everyday life, but it's surprising how many things become harder without hands. Like opening pudding, god you miss pudding. They say TRUE LOVE can break the curse, doesn't it always, so best get out there and get your tappy-taps. Or don't, who knows, maybe you're one of those weirdos who actually likes this.

Your character is now an animal, but that's okay, they can still talk just like before. In fact, nobody seems to really care, manimals are treated just like people...usually! Looks like this little problem is becoming more common, so you better keep showing up for work. No, you can't be excused because you're a cow,

True love breaks the curse!! Not like that's surprising, but how hard are you gonna look for it? Do you want to turn back right away, but can't find anyone who would fall for such a furious beast? Or maybe you're cute as a button and have gotten used to all this extra attention. Maybe you're still human and feel bad for these poor cursed people and want to help them out, or possibly worse, handed them that cursed water to begin with and can't live with the guilt!! Maybe you're both cursed and are trying to make a relationship work between a cobra and a mongoose, who knows!! The possibilities are endless!!

This curse is slow, you don't change back just like that!! After getting to know someone and scoring that first kiss, manimals will find themselves as adorable kemonomimi versions of themselves, keeping their ears and tails!! Or cool face markings if they didn't have ears! Or whatever, it's all good!! Wow, looks like this is really working, better keep it up. 100k more dinners should do the trick, right?

[In some goofy timeline where that curse didn't just strike men, Maya resumes her regular role of assistant in the form of a snowshoe cat trying to help a little chinchilla find love. But aside from that background, today's been pretty lame. The two have had more failures than not at this whole getting-the-curse-broken thing, sure, but those days haven't been quite so bad-luck as this one. It's just been one of those days that would be unlucky even if they weren't cursed, from cancelled plans to getting caught in the rain.

Well, that one might be more of a problem than before; after all, now that Dandy's a chinchilla, they couldn't have just let him dry off naturally or he'd get all sticky and moldy. It'd taken longer than anyone would have liked to comb and towel down his fur, even with the task divided between them. It's still a bit of a chore without thumbs, okay. But they'd lived through it, and with the rain still pouring outside, the only sensible option to a very soft and fluffy cat seemed to be a nap.

Which is why Maya, now only slightly damp at the end of her tail herself (she doesn't get nasty, but she also doesn't want to ruin their hard work with her own fur) is kind of rocking side to side, blinking sleepily, her purr quiet but steady, as she waits to see if Dandy's calmed down enough. As a friend, she wants to make sure he's okay... but as a cat? She really wants to curl up right now.]

Well, that took forever.

[She's a bit gentler about her teasing than usual, but she's still going to tease. Absent-mindedly, she starts grooming the fluff on her chest before she speaks again.]

Aren't you gonna go sit by the heater?

[That should help with any remaining moisture, maybe.]

[The rain was definitely a huge concern above everything else, not only because it could outright kill him if they didn't handle it right away, but it also totally ruined his style. If chicks weren't into him before, they sure wouldn't be now!

He can only be grateful he has someone like Maya to watch after him, some cats probably would've seen a giant drowned rat and be all over it. Instead Maya's over here, combing him out, drying him off, and now she...

...looks like she's about to topple over?]

Uhhh...

[He's calmed down at least, but he can't help but raise an eyebrow. They were hurrying pretty fast, but her legs are waaaay longer than his, is she really that tired already? Poor thing.]

I'm starting to think you need it more than I do. You look like you're about to topple over any second, baby.

[In response, Maya's eyes go wide, and so do her pupils, like she's switched modes or something. Cats are weird.]

I'm okay! It's just really easy to get sleepy now that I'm a cat. And really easy to sleep. I can sleep pretty much anywhere.

[And then pretend to be awake again, too, apparently. It comes in handy; she can snap awake and then as soon as the excitement's over curl up on someone's important papers and go right out.

...She hasn't stopped wobbling, though, in time with her purrs. ]

Theeeeeeen you should have no problem sleepin' right here, huh?

[And he of course points towards the heater. That's a cat thing too, right? They sure love sleeping on and near warm crap.]

I won't judge you for fallin' for temptation, that siren song is pretty strong~

Well, in that case, I'll leave you to finish drying off by yourself.

[Maya takes the invitation that easily, springing to her feet and curling her tail behind her before she carries it up in the air.]

I'm gonna take the best spot all for myself.

[Wait.

WAIT.]

Like hell you are, you don't take up THAT much space, dammit!!

[Suddenly being nice and caring about others is backfiring on him. He scrambles off behind her, but to be honest he's not sure what he'd do if she did decide to stretch herself out as much as she can, she totally has the advantage here. UGH, why couldn't he be a cool dog?!]

[When she hears him scramble, Maya starts to hurry, keeping her eyes forward to mask her grin. When she gets to that warm spot she immediately starts stretching out her paws like she's going to do exactly what he's afraid of and s t r e t c h out there.]

There's no room for chinchillas here!

He knew it, he's known her for awhile now, so it's no surprise she did EXACTLY what he knew she'd do. For someone who acts so cute and innocent, she sure knows how to piss people off.

But fine, whatever!! Two can play at this game.]

[Which is, of course, not true at all since he's so small and soft, but that doesn't stop him from slinking away into the darkness. What darkness? The darkness that's just there because I say so.

It's only until he thinks Maya is nice and comfy that he comes charging back, leaping into the air and aiming for her fluffy tummy.]

[And boy does Maya make herself look comfy there, on her back, front paws pulled to her chest. It's like she's taunting Dandy with how comfortable she looks.

When he finally comes darting over, Maya opens his eye just a tiny bit to catch a glimpse of him-- and when he pounces on her, she doesn't freak out. Rather, she curls in, grasping him with her paws in an approximation of.... well, kind of like a headlock, kind of like a hug, but really not great at either. Animal arms make things tough.]

Ha! You thought you could get me, didn't you?

[but it was all according to plan!!]

[She just...let him... Just let him dive bomb her stomach, did she even feel it?? Not even a yelp in surprise??

Oh how the mighty have fallen...

And now he's trapped in her furry grasp, this is just embarrassing, he can't even bring himself to struggle.]

Well, there goes my pride...

[Or whatever little he had left.]

Wow! I can't believe that actually worked!

[Maya can't help but laugh a little.]

If you were any bigger, I might be in trouble!

[She even gives him a squeeze, unashamed to enjoy his fluffy softness. She's a cute girl, she's allowed to like soft things. Her purring is louder than before, especially with him pressed up against her like that.]

[With the rumble of her purr and her furry arms holding him tight, Dandy would almost think he was strapped into some kinda fancy massage chair made just for chinchillas. He'd fall asleep right there if he didn't want to look even softer than he already does.]

No kiddin', if I were big bad Dandy again, you'd be one squashed kitty...

[God, she's so soft and warm, don't mind him if he just...wiggles himself until he's comfy. The heater is definitely not helping, he's going to have to find a way to replicate this when he's human again for sure-]

So even big bad Dandy's ungrateful, huh?

[Maya sighs dramatically, rolling to her side and pinning Dandy under her arm instead. It's not an uncomfortable pin, though, again more like a hug-- but she's not exactly made it easy for him to get up.]

After I helped you get your fur dry and everything.

[Dandy doesn't fight it, if only because he knows he really can't. A part of him wonders if this is just part of her cat instincts, it always boggled him that out of all the animal girls out there, a cat would pal around a giant mouse. Maybe she's been waiting for this moment, maybe it's only a matter of time before she uses her back legs to tear him apart.

Or maybe they can just continue being super comfy.]

Yuuuuup, that sounds like him. [What are they, two separate people now?] Gotta hand it to you though, you sure can work a comb without thumbs. I'm impressed.

Well I wasn't gonna stop combing my own hair just cos it's fur now. It's all in the wrist.

[Confirms Maya. It really would seem that they're going to stay comfy, Maya curled around him. Sure, a cat could probably easily trick Dandy like this to eat him, but Maya has no reason to. She's just girl who's been turned into a cat and found a friend in a not-mouse. For as much as she likes to piss Dandy off, she does find him funny-- and part of why she sticks around so much is because she knows he gets her humor, too. Even if she wanted to snack on a rodent... she'd probably pass up on eating Dandy.]

All in the wrist, huh?

[Not only is he comfy, but Dandy manages to squirm just enough to roll over and face her, propping his head up with his little paw. His smile is just as large as it is obnoxious, it's a good thing she really does find him funny.]

So what else can ya do? Y'know, with your wrists~

[Sometimes it's not entirely clear whether or not Maya catches Dandy's drift.]

Oh! I know a cool trick, actually, wanna see?

[Since he's not wiggling free anymore, Maya can hold up her paw and wiggle it, to demonstrate how ready she is to show him a cool trick. This is not at all suspicious. Totally.]

[Dandy's smile only gets stupider, still believing they're on the same page somehow. Is it possible to blush under all that fur? ...Who am I kidding, of course it is, this is blush blush rules.]

Shit, really-? YEAH! Let's see some magic, baby~

[There they are, his last words.]

[And show him she does; Maya wiggles her wrist loosely in front of him a couple more times until--

--she whaps him in the nose with it..]

[He ~~probably~~ deserved that, although he doesn't hide his sarcasm. Rubbing his little nose, Dandy finally just sits himself up, giving her a pout she's seen a thousand times by now.

[It probably doesn't help Dandy that Maya just giggles, thoroughly amused with herself.]

I know, right?

[And once her giggling's subsided, she actually offers an attempt at being helpful--]

Don't you think you might have a little better luck getting a date if you didn't say stuff like that all the time?

Oh yeah, what am I supposed to say? "You got some real sweet, soft, adorable eyes right...there..."

[It's obviously just an example, and not something he's saying now that he's eye level with her. Why they gotta be so soft like that? Is it because of the fur? It's probably the fur making them look all...soft.]

Y'know, for a cat...

--See! Now that's a nice thing to say to a lady!

[Maya replies, those sweet, soft, adorable eyes all full of determination now, for some reason, and staring right in to Dandy's.]

You can say nice stuff after all! Actually, you're pretty much invited to.

[at least both of them are idiots. But by that look in Maya's face, at least she seems to be an idiot who believes there's still hope for Dandy. And for getting more compliments, probably.]
